Who we are
Linden (“we”, “us”) is built by one person. The Android package is com.yervand.stopscroll. For any privacy question or data request, email us at hello@lindenapp.tech.
What Linden collects
- Anonymous device identifier. A random ID generated on your device and used to link your settings, streaks, and subscription to your install. It is not your hardware IMEI, advertising ID, phone number, or any government identifier.
- App-usage information. With your Usage Access permission, Linden reads which app is currently in the foreground and basic usage durations, so it can detect when you open a blocked app and show you relevant stats. We store aggregated usage counts to power your weekly summary.
- Your blocklist and settings. The list of apps you choose to gate, your chosen difficulty, gatekeeper personality, and daily budget.
- Conversations with Lumi. The messages you send to the AI gatekeeper, and its replies, are processed on our server to generate the response. They are stored so the conversation has context.
- Optional account details. If you create an account, we store a nickname and a hashed password. If you choose Google sign-in, we receive your email address and display name from Google for the sole purpose of identifying your account.
- Purchase status. When you subscribe through Google Play, we receive a purchase token from Google Play Billing and verify it to unlock the paid features. We do not see or store your card number — all payment is handled by Google Play.
What Linden does NOT collect
- No screen contents, keystrokes, or what you type inside other apps.
- No location, contacts, photos, microphone, or camera data.
- No advertising identifier. Linden shows no ads and runs no ad SDKs.
- We never sell your data, and we never share it with data brokers.
Permissions and why we need them
- Usage Access (PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS) — to know which app just came to the foreground so Linden can step in. This is the core of how blocking works.
- Display over other apps (SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW) — to show the Lumi chat screen on top of a blocked app.
- See installed apps (QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES) — to let you build your blocklist from the apps actually on your phone, and to identify which blocked app is in front of you. The list of installed apps is used only on your device to populate the picker; we do not upload your full app inventory.
- Notifications, exact alarms, run-at-startup, ignore battery optimizations — to keep the focus service alive and deliver check-ins and reminders on time.
Linden does not use a VPN, and does not request Device Admin or any uninstall-protection permission.
Third parties
- AI provider. Your chat messages with Lumi are sent to our AI model provider to generate replies. They are transmitted for processing and are not used by us to build a profile of you beyond conversation context.
- Google Play Billing. Handles all subscription payments. We only receive the purchase token and subscription status needed to grant access.
- Google Sign-In (optional). Used only if you choose it, to identify your account.
How long we keep data
We keep your settings, usage summaries, and conversations for as long as your install or account is active. When you delete your data (see below) we remove it from our database. Backups are rotated on a rolling basis and purged within 30 days.
Delete your data
You can ask us to delete everything tied to your install or account at any time by emailing hello@lindenapp.tech from the address linked to your account, or with your in-app nickname. We will delete your account, conversations, usage records, and settings within 30 days. Uninstalling the app stops all further collection on your device.
Children
Linden is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country). We do not knowingly collect data from them.
Security
Traffic is encrypted with HTTPS. Passwords are stored only as salted hashes — never in plain text. Server access is locked down.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top moves with it, and anything material gets flagged in the app. Keep using Linden after an update and you're agreeing to the new version.
